Hi Ann,

You don't need particular recipes for the Adwin. Good recipes will work with all ice cream makers.

Thanks

In reply to <a href="https://www.dreamscoops.com/best-ice-cream-gelato-maker/with-compressor/#comments/45976">Jeff Stanford</a>.

Hi Jeff,

Yes I'm really happy with the Ninja Creami.

I just find it so convenient as it can sit permanently on the counter top.

And the not only is the ice cream really smooth, but because it can be respun every time you want ice cream, there is no degradation in quality over time (unlike with other ice cream).

The drawbacks: it is a bit noisy, you do have to plan ahead a bit and there is very little (if any) air incorporated which can give the ice cream a slightly "fudgey" texture.

However, the Ninja Creami Swirl does incorporate moreair (as part of the spinning process rather than as it comes out of the spout), so if that's an issue, you could always go for that model instead.

So yes, I'm still a big fan!

Thanks

I am curious about your use of the Ninja Creami? I was looking at that, and then read some reviews. None of them mentioned it and eventually came around to the compressor models. Now, after reading your reviews, I am thinking about a non compressor model again. Are you happy with the Ninja Creami compared to the other non compressor models out there?

In reply to <a href="https://www.dreamscoops.com/best-ice-cream-gelato-maker/with-compressor/#comments/45879">Mary</a>.

Hi Mary

I've added a "Loudness" recording in decibels against each of the machines (in the table at the top of each review).

I've just a quick look, and it seems like the compressor machines are generally slightly quieter than the canister ones.

The quietest according to my recording is the Cuisinart ICE-100 (71 DB).

I'm not sure that there is a massive difference, though: I recorded most of the canister machines at around 80 DB.

I hope that helps...

A lot of people (me included) will run the machine on empty for some minutes to cool the bowl down before adding the mixture. But as soon you add the mixture, it brings the temperature back up a lot. Much more than with a removable bowl (canister) ice cream maker.

A lot of people complain about it, bit I actually find it easy.

You wait until any residue has melted. Then take a bowl of water and kitchen sponge to the machine and mop out the residue. Then empty the bowl, add some fresh water and dishwashing liquid to properly clean it. Finally, dry and polish with a kitchen towel.

It takes no more than 5 minutes.
